1.SG on the Sports Field

On Tuesday, 14 November 2023, boys from the 1st to 4th year took part in the district round of the Secondary School Futsal League tournament, held under the auspices of the Football Association of the Czech Republic. The event ran from the morning hours in the TJ Ruzyně hall in Prague 6. Three other schools from Prague took part in the tournament alongside us.

In the first match, the boys managed to outscore their opponents by a wide margin, 8:4. In the next one, unfortunately, they lost to their opponents 1:4. From this point of view, the third match was therefore decisive for us; a win in it would have guaranteed advancement to the spring regional round of the Secondary School Futsal League.

Unfortunately, the boys lost a heartbreaking match 4:5. Advancement slipped away by a hair's breadth, and we finished in third place, which did not qualify for further advancement. We believe that next year the tournament will go better for our boys and that we'll manage to advance.

On Friday, 24 November 2023, selected students across all years took part in the district round of the floorball league Subterra Cup. The tournament ran from 9 am at the Exe Sport Aréna in Prague's Braník district. A total of 6 teams from 6 different schools in Prague took part. The students played with full commitment, but were nevertheless defeated in all three matches. In the first, they faced the team from SPŠ Dušní, losing 0:6, and in the second they played SPŠD Masná, losing 2:5, which meant that the students of 1. Slovanské gymnázium would be competing for 5th place.

In the placement match, despite the team's improving cohesion and cooperation, our students lost to the team from SŠ Betlémská 1:2 on a goal scored in the final seconds.
