Admissions process

Admissions process for the 2026/2027 school year

The headmistress announces the 3rd round of the admissions process for the field of education 79-41-K/41 Grammar School — full-time study, 1st year.

In the 3rd round we do not take into account the results of the CERMAT unified entrance examination. We are primarily interested in how the applicant thinks, communicates and why they wish to study — the main part of the process is therefore the motivational interview.

Applicants are assessed exclusively according to the school criteria set out below. We admit applicants in order according to their points score until the capacity of the field and the school is filled; the school does not set a minimum pass threshold.

Motivational interview

Our aim is to meet every applicant and find out about their study plans. We are looking for students who can express their thoughts, enjoy learning new things and are not afraid of academic challenges.

The interview lasts approximately 15 minutes and takes place in Czech and English. Each applicant will have the opportunity to present their motivation for studying as well as their communication skills. The interview focuses on motivation to study at a grammar school, the ability to communicate in a cultivated manner, familiarity with their previous education and understanding of the demands and rules of study.

Part of the meeting includes verification of language and communication skills in both Czech and English — understanding a short text and the ability to formulate one's own statement.

Ranking of applicants and conditions for admission

Applicants are ranked according to the total number of points achieved, from highest to lowest, and are admitted in this order until the capacity of the field and the school is filled. The school does not set a minimum pass threshold.

In particular, the following conditions must be met for admission: proper submission of the application within the specified deadline, completion of compulsory school attendance (or proof of corresponding previous education), participation in the school part of the admissions process, and fulfilment of the published criteria.

In the event of an equal total number of points, the following are decisive, in order:

  1. a higher score from the interview,
  2. a higher score from the verification of language and communication skills,
  3. a better average academic result,
  4. a higher rating of the applicant's profile,
  5. a draw in the presence of a committee of at least three members.

Venue

The school part of the admissions process (motivational interview) takes place at Na Příkopě 850/8, 110 00 Praha 1.
