The school's philosophy

The foundation of our philosophy is the belief that a student can achieve genuine results only when they feel safe, accepted and respected at school. For a young person, the grammar school is a second home for four years. That is why we place exceptional emphasis on an atmosphere of trust, humanity, personal approach and mutual respect.

We want every student to know that they are welcome at school, that they have their place here, and that their journey matters to us. Only in an environment of calm, security and support can a young person focus their energy on education, personal development and gradually finding their own future.

Preparation for the maturita exam does not begin in the fourth year. It is built deliberately from the very first year of study.

Language education has long been part of the school's identity. Our students do not study only one foreign language; their studies include three foreign languages, which broaden their options for further study and professional careers.

The grammar school offers education in two programmes: a classic programme in Czech, and a programme with selected subjects taught in English. It is precisely the English-language branch that is becoming one of the main strategic directions for the school's further development. Our aim is to gradually strengthen English-language teaching, to prepare students for the possibility of sitting the maturita exam in English, and to further develop the international dimension of education, including preparation for implementing the IB programme.

We consider it an important part of quality grammar school education to connect the school with the university environment, with practising experts and with inspiring personalities. Meeting interesting people as part of lessons, specialist seminars, projects and subject-related activities helps students better understand the purpose of their studies and discover their own professional direction.

We believe that choosing the right future profession does not happen by chance. It is the result of long-term work, support, conversations, experience and good-quality preparation. That is why we want to show students not only the curriculum, but also the world they will enter after the maturita exam.

Part of our philosophy is also the deliberate development of leadership, personal responsibility and management skills in our students. We believe that quality grammar school education should not lead only to good grades and a successful maturita exam, but also to a young person being able to communicate, cooperate, formulate their own opinion, make decisions and take responsibility for them.

This is precisely why we support the active work of the student council, which we see as an important space for developing civic maturity, initiative and the ability to participate in the life of the school. Here, students learn not only to express their needs and proposals, but also to understand the wider context of how the school community functions, to seek solutions, to discuss matters with the school's management, and to turn their ideas into concrete steps.

The success of our graduates in admissions to Czech and foreign universities is proof to us that the direction the school has taken makes sense. A graduate of our grammar school should be educated, skilled in languages, cultivated, independent and ready to take responsibility for their decisions.

We want them to be not only a successful applicant for university study, but also a young person who can think in context, communicate with respect, cooperate with others and, where needed, naturally take on the role of leader.

After twenty years of the school's existence, our main idea remains the same: to be a grammar school that combines quality education, openness to languages, university ambitions, the development of personal responsibility and a warm, human atmosphere — a school to which students can return with the feeling that they were accepted, supported and well prepared for the rest of their lives.
