Adaptation course in Šumava
First-year students spent a week in Železná Ruda — with trips to Černé jezero (Black Lake), a talk by the Šumava National Park spokesperson, and an evening campfire.
On Monday 7 September, students set off for Železná Ruda with their form teachers, Tomáš Mašek and Kateřina Albrechtová, and the school psychologist, Patrik Klán. Throughout the week, they were based at the Hotel Stella on Špičák.
On the very first evening, the students met Jan Dvořák, spokesperson for the Šumava National Park. In his talk, he introduced them to the Šumava countryside, its protection, and what makes this region so special.
The form teachers prepared a varied programme for each day: walking trips, a visit to Černé jezero (Black Lake) and the surrounding viewpoints, group games and an evening campfire. In this way, the students got to know not only the beauty of Šumava but, above all, their new classmates and teachers.
We believe they are bringing back plenty of memories from Šumava, new friendships, and enthusiasm to embark together on their first year at SLOVGYM.
