A talk with MUDr. Petanová

On 4 June 2024, a discussion was held in the gymnázium's assembly hall with MUDr. Jitka

Petanová, a physician, a teacher at the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University (1.LFUK), and, last but not least, an excellent violinist.In the first part of the conversation, the doctor revealed what circumstances led her to

study medicine, what motivated her to study medicine, and everything she had to do, in order to be accepted into medical school. She also advised students who are considering studying medicine on what strategy

to choose in order to get into medical school.

In the second part of the discussion, the doctor described her own medical studies and

the possibilities for specialization.

The last topic that MUDr. Petanová presented to the students was

Immunology, the doctor's own field of specialization. She spoke about disorders

of the immune system, therapeutic options, and what we ourselves can do for

a stronger immune defence.
