A talk with opera and musical singer Liana Sass
We were visited by the wonderful opera and musical singer Liana Sass. She has spent her whole life on opera and concert stages around the world, and we have staged operas together several times, with me directing her. I can confirm that this excellent singer and actress would live and breathe for the opera genre. So I made sure not to leave her out when introducing our students to the art of singing.

She sang wonderfully and accompanied herself on the piano at the same time. In two hours, together with the students, we created a wonderful atmosphere in which opera shed its untouchability, sacred music drew closer to our feelings, folk song stopped being trivial, and musical and film singing rose from mere listening to a virtuoso level.
I dare say we all enjoyed it, and if the talk hadn't ended, we might even have gotten to karaoke.
Thank you, Liana — this won't be the last time we see you.
