Bitcoin and Other Cryptocurrencies: Do They Still Make Sense?
On Wednesday 8 April, a lecture was held at our school by the leading Czech economist Mgr. Ing. Dominik Stroukal, Ph.D. on the current and popular topic of the Bitcoin phenomenon and other cryptocurrencies – how the very nature of money is changing in the digital age, how technology is changing financial freedom, and what risks and opportunities the future holds, where cash may play an ever smaller role.

Dominik Stroukal, Ph.D. on the current and popular topic of the Bitcoin phenomenon and other cryptocurrencies – how the very nature of money is changing in the digital age, how technology is changing financial freedom, and what risks and opportunities the future holds, where cash may play an ever smaller role. Mgr. Ing. Dominik Stroukal, Ph.D., who works at the Metropolitan University Prague and is a member of NERV, is known for his ability to explain complex economic concepts with ease and humour, as he also demonstrates in his podcasts (e.g. Ve vatě).
For our students, it was a chance to get an inside look at cryptocurrencies and modern finance with one of the leading experts in the field.
