In the last week of February, third-year students visited the Czech National Bank's Behind the Currency exhibition. The excursion took place in the large Roith Hall of the Czech National Bank building on Na Příkopě 28 street. Representatives of the bank introduced the students to the history of our central bank's existence, which is housed in a spacious functionalist building with a floor area larger than the Old Town Square near our school. As part of the guided exhibition, the individual guides acquainted the students with the main functions and mandates of the Czech National Bank in the areas of monetary policy and financial market supervision. The exhibition included a number of educational panels and interactive elements, including a laboratory for verifying the authenticity of banknotes. The students were able to try this out in practice too.
I would like to thank the management of 1. Slovanské gymnázium for the opportunity to visit the exhibition.
