Masná Street – The Fates of a Place through the Ages

A cross-year school project during online teaching? Yes, it's possible!

Students from the 1st to 3rd year, led by PhDr. Václava Kofránková, Ph.D., have taken on a challenging task – investigating just where our gymnázium actually stands.

As part of the project Masná Street – The Fates of a Place through the Ages students will, through a look into the history of one street, learn about the history of their own school and the historic centre of Prague 1, as well as the fates of interesting figures connected with the area around Masná Street. They will try their hand at working with various historical sources and specialist literature, communicating with local authorities and memory institutions, and get a hands-on introduction to the media environment.

Mixed teams involving all three year groups are working on the project, led by teachers acting as consultants.

So far the project is being carried out only in the online environment of MS Teams, and is complemented by a number of interesting guests. So what workshops and lectures can they look forward to?
