Lecture for Secondary Schools: “From Perceptrons to Deep Neural Networks”

On Wednesday, 22 October, we took a large group of students interested in how chat tools work to the Prague University of Economics and Business. At the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics,

a lecture had been prepared for us on the topic ‘From Perceptrons to Deep Neural Networks'. The lecture, held at the university's rectorate, was given by Assoc. Prof. Ing. Ondřej Zamazal, Ph.D. from the Department of Information

and Knowledge Engineering. He showed the students the differences between living biological neural networks and the artificial ones that people have created and begun to use. The lecture also opened up questions to consider,

such as the impact that using and training artificial neural networks has on human thinking, and on the energy demands of their operation. Students also competed in a quiz about the lecture.

They surprised everyone with their knowledge in the prepared quizzes. The winner was Tomáš Vraný from 4.D. All students got the chance to glimpse

an ordinary day at university and get to know a school where they might study in the future.
