Supporting refugee children from Ukraine
On 7 March, 1. Slovanské gymnázium welcomed children who had been forced to leave their homes because of the war in Ukraine. Under the auspices of the Děti Ukrajiny (Children of Ukraine) Foundation, the Ministry of Education and the Ukrainian embassy, single-class units are being set up across the Czech Republic to provide instruction in the children's native language, in line with the Ukrainian education system. The launch was also attended by Minister of Education Petr Gazdík and Charles University's rector

Given our international character, our school was one of the first secondary schools in the Czech Republic to get fully involved in the project. This week we welcomed more than 100 children from Ukraine, and from next week we will be running a dedicated class for them.
