“Space for Manipulation” at the DOX Center for Contemporary Art

Yesterday, our first-year students visited the DOX Center for Contemporary Art as part of a field trip.

This unique multi-purpose space, a former factory, is a center for design, architecture, and lectures.

Through an interactive lecture, students of 1.Slovanské gymnázium first learned about the principles of modern architecture and the reconstruction of DOX and other buildings.

Finally, they were given space for their own creative work, where they could design their own reconstruction of DOX, which they then presented.

They then took on the roles of a blind person and their guide, realizing how differently we perceive space without sight.

They also didn't miss the exhibition by Petr Sís, an illustrator of Czech origin living in the USA, which had just opened in this unique setting.
