Intensive Summer Courses
From 3 to 28 August 2026 we run intensive summer courses for students before they start secondary school. You can choose a course in Mathematics, Czech for students with a different mother tongue and English. Lessons take place from Monday to Friday in the grammar school building at Na Příkopě 850/8, Praha 1.
Courses can be combined — Mathematics runs in the morning, with the language courses running concurrently in the afternoon.

Czech Language Course for Students with a Different Mother Tongue (60 hours)
This intensive Czech course is designed for students with a different mother tongue who are preparing to start secondary school and want to improve their Czech. The course is led by Mgr. Drahomíra Pokorná and, over four weeks (15 hours each), covers grammar, morphology, syntax, vocabulary, stylistics and work with texts.

Week 1 · 15 hours
Grammar and Morphology
Consolidating basic grammatical structures, bringing the group to a common level and building greater confidence in written expression.

- Nouns and adjectives
- Pronouns
- Verbs — conjugation, aspect, mood
- Numerals and adverbs
- Basic spelling
Week 2 · 15 hours
Syntax and Vocabulary
The structure of the Czech sentence, expanding vocabulary and more precise expression.

- Types of sentences and compound sentences
- Conjunctions and connecting expressions
- Synonyms and antonyms
- Thematic vocabulary areas
Week 3 · 15 hours
Stylistics
Creating coherent texts, functional styles and the logic of argumentation.

- Message, e-mail, description, narration
- Reflection, characterisation, report
Week 4 · 15 hours
Working with Text
Preparation for the admissions process, reading literacy and working with information. The course concludes with a final diagnostic assignment.

What You'll Gain from the Czech Course

Mathematics and English
The Mathematics course takes place in the morning (9:00–11:30) and consolidates material ahead of starting secondary school. In the week of 24–28 August, our incoming first-year students will also join the course, for whom this week is free of charge.
The English Language course runs concurrently with the Czech course (12:30–15:00).
