The school is located right in the centre of all the action and history, so the students, together with their teachers, decided to take a walk through Prague. First, they headed to the Old Town Square to see the Astronomical Clock, to refresh their memory and recall its colourful history, then they moved on to the Prague Municipal Library, which offers students a quiet place to study and a wide selection of books suitable not only
On 24 October, we had the honour of meeting Mr. Václav Ryč, who works with the Czech Banking Association on a project called “Bankers in Schools”. Third-year students thus had the opportunity to listen to an interesting lecture on cybersecurity and personal finance.
On 26 September, our school held European Day of Languages, where students introduced each other to their nationalities, the languages they speak, or their favourite country. Students made flags of the countries they represented and presented them to the others.
Today our students decided to do a good deed and help the charity “People in Need.” This charity helps people in need who have become victims of war, natural disasters or armed conflicts. On Friday 14 June 2024, the ceremonial presentation of graduation certificates took place in the morning at the Old Town Hall, in the historic heart of Prague. On 4 June 2024, a discussion was held in the gymnázium's assembly hall with MUDr. Jitka Petanová, a physician, a teacher at the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University (1.LFUK), and, last but not least, an excellent violinist. On 29 May 2024, the election for chairman of the 1.SG Parliament took place successfully. In an exciting contest, Miss Karolína Šimaiová from class II.D won by a clear margin, with a platform that resonated with students of every year. Congratulations on a success that also carries responsibility. Miss Karolína was also congratulated by the current chairman of the Parliament, Arseniy Pilipey, whom the students thanked sincerely with applause for his work so far.
At 1. Slovanské gymnázium in Prague, the oral graduation exams and defences of written theses have begun. We may not realize it, but this is a special moment for students and teachers alike, for the whole school. We, the teachers, wish all our students little fear and lots of luck.
